The 2019 Big Bend Ranch Rodeo is now in the record books, and the Aug. 9-10 event was full of excitement, sportsmanship and suspense. The best cowboys from Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Oklahoma showed off their skills for the record crowds each evening at the Sul Ross State University SALE arena in Alpine.
The Rocker b Ranch team from Barnhart took the 2019 Ranch Rodeo Championship. In addition to cash and prizes, the team won an automatic bid to the Working Ranch Cowboys Association World Championships in Amarillo in November. The Rocker b team scored points in almost all five events on both Friday evening and Saturday evening.
The rodeo drew large crowds each night, with many traveling long distances to be there. Next year’s Big Bend Ranch Rodeo will take place on Aug. 7-8, 2020.
